Our story
A family, on the water, since 2000
SRG began with one restaurant at Milsons Point and is still run by the family that opened it.
In 2000 Bill and Kathleen Drakopoulos opened Aqua on the harbour at Milsons Point. The idea was simple and has not changed: a good room by the water, food worth crossing the city for, and service that notices things.
Twenty-five years on, SRG is still family-owned. Bill and Kathleen's four children — Anastasia, Nicola, Daniel and Perry — run the group today; Daniel and Perry Drakopoulos have been managing directors since 2025, when Bill moved to a mentoring and advisory role, and the Greek hospitality they grew up with is the through-line: generosity first, detail second, nothing too much trouble.
The group marked its 25th year in January 2026 with a portfolio of seventeen venues, from harbourfront dining rooms to neighbourhood kiosks, and seven more openings planned before the end of the year.
