Lago Cucina is on Level 1 of the Budgewoi Hotel, up the main staircase, with Lake Budgewoi through the windows. It is a different room to the pub below it — Mediterranean, a little dressed up, still Central Coast.
The kitchen makes its own pasta and cooks with generous flavour. The bar takes its cues from the Italian coast. Long lunches and sunset drinks are what the room is built for.
Lunch is weekends only, midday to 2.30. Dinner runs Thursday to Saturday, 5.30 to 8.30, and Sunday, 5.30 to 7.30.
On Thursday nights, any pasta comes with a house beer or a glass of the house Italian wine, all up $30. On weekends there is a two-hour banquet at $79 a head, drinks included, for tables of four or more.

Group dining
Groups of 12 to 30 choose between the classic and premium banquet sharing menus. Menus can change without notice, and a 10% surcharge applies on Sundays.

Lago Cucina seats 120, or holds 150 for a cocktail party, with the lake in view. The Cellar, a semi-private space inside the dining room, seats 30 or holds 35 standing.
Getting here
Lago Cucina is at Level 1, 169 Budgewoi Road, Budgewoi, above the Budgewoi Hotel. Take the hotel's main staircase to get up there.
Parking is free in the hotel car park, with more on the streets around it. The hotel's courtesy bus also runs at set hours — check with the hotel before you rely on it.
Accessibility
The first floor is reached by stairs only; there is no wheelchair access to Lago Cucina.
