The Budgie — a Central Coast pub beside Lake Budgewoi
Budgewoi Hotel — The Budgie, to anyone local — sits on Budgewoi Road on the Central Coast, about ninety minutes north of the city. The beer garden takes the afternoon sun, and there is a firepit for the colder half of the year.
The bistro does pub cooking, and Lago Cucina, the Italian dining room, is up on Level 1 of the same building. Between them the hotel covers a counter lunch and a long dinner without anyone having to move the car.
The pub opens at 10 every morning, and runs to midnight Monday to Saturday and 10pm on Sunday. The bistro takes lunch and dinner most days and stays open right through the middle of Saturday.
Free pool on Mondays, trivia at 7 on Tuesdays, open mic on Wednesdays, poker on Fridays and live music through the weekend. It is a local pub first, and proud of it.

The Budgie takes up to 80 guests for a cocktail party. The Lakeside Room on the ground floor can be hired on its own, and the covered Lakeside Deck adjoins it for anyone who would rather be outside.
Getting here
Budgewoi Hotel is at 169 Budgewoi Road, Budgewoi, about ninety minutes' drive from the Sydney CBD. There is parking in the hotel's own car park and free street parking around it.
A courtesy bus covers a five-kilometre radius of the hotel: Friday and Saturday from 5pm, and Sunday between 11am and 4pm. Call (02) 4390 9336 for times and to book a seat. Taxis and rideshares can drop at the entrance.
Accessibility
The ground floor has step-free entry and is fully wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking bays close by. There is no wheelchair access to Lago Cucina on Level 1.
